There is no cleaning yourself up before coming to Jesus. Jesus invites us to come just as we are. Jesus said that if he be lifted up (hung on the cross) he would draw all men unto him. Jesus also said that anyone who calls upon his name shall be saved.
If you have decided you want to be an overcomer all you have to do is make Jesus the Lord of your life. Romans 10:8-11 says: But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."
If you are ready to make Jesus your Lord, say this prayer out loud and mean it with your heart: "Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. I believe you died on the cross and rose again that I might have eternal life. Jesus, I ask you to forgive me for my sin which put you on that cross to pay a debt I could never pay. Jesus, come live within my heart and be the Lord of my life. I repent. I turn away from all things that are sinful...the wrong path and turn toward the path you command me to walk. I thank you Jesus for placing your Holy Spirit within this temple. I also ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit and teach me how to hear and obey your voice. In your sweet holy name I pray. Amen."
You are now what God calls his "jewel", "beloved", "saint", “sheep”, and "child". The Bible says that at the moment one of us comes to the Lord Heaven rejoices! In Heaven they are throwing a party that you have come into the Kingdom! We at Holy Spirit Speak rejoice with Heaven (our Home) and with you that you are now a child of God. Jesus is not ashamed of you. Don't be ashamed to tell others what you have done. The more you do the stronger you will feel the joy he has placed within you.
Believer, pray (talk to God) daily, read your Bible daily and ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to the right place to worship with the rest of the body of Christ.
